Meet New Neighbours! – Pop-in Creative Workshops for New Residents of Rijeka
17.3.–15.12.2026.
Meet New Neighbours! is a programme of workshops and gatherings developed by Klub 24, an informal collective of Rijeka students established within the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, in collaboration with the Students’ Cultural Centre in Rijeka. It creates a space for encounters between local residents and people who have come to Rijeka for studies, work, or personal reasons.
Meet New Neighbours! creates a space for encounters between local residents and people who have come to Rijeka for studies, work, or personal reasons.
The monthly workshops are open, participatory meetings built around creative activities: DIY printmaking about memories of home, collective cooking based on hybrid recipes, translating songs, making fanzines, and informal gatherings such as a pub quiz on traditions of hospitality.
At the centre of the programme is language – not as a system of correctness, but as a space for encounter, negotiation, and shared learning. Workshop outcomes take the form of “recipes”: texts, images, collages, and sound materials documenting participants’ experiences and stories.
First workshop: Tuesday, 17 March at 11:30.
Participation is open and free – no registration required.
